Farne Islands
The Farne Islands, off Seahouses on the Northumbrian coast, offer the most wonderful opportunity for photographing seabirds. Boat trips are available daily from Seahouses, giving you several hours on both the Inner Farne and Staple Island. As well as thousands of puffins and terns you will get a chance to see guillimots, razorbills, cormorants and many others - all from close up. I have spent hours trying to capture puffins in flight, as they bring in sand eels for their young. They are small birds that move very fast - so my success rate is pretty low!
