This
was taken on our first evening on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon,
from the terrace of the Grand Canyon lodge. As the sun dipped down
towards the horizon, over the Transept, the canyon itself fell into
shadow, leaving just the peaks to our left, beyond Bright Angel Point,
and the faraway lip of the South Rim, lit by the evening light. The
scene was constantly changing, as different peaks caught the light. It
seems almost impossible to capture the magnitude of the view - this
image is a panoramic 'stitch' of 5 separate portrait frames. |
